Joel Iventosch Bio Page

Welcome to my Bio Page.

Joel Iventosch My name is Joel Iventosch. I am a recent graduate of Aurora University (#SPARTANS FOR LIFE), where I majored in Math and minored in Computer Science and Business Administration. During my three years at Aurora, I played on the Varsity Men's Basketball team and was a co-captain my Junior and Senior seasons. My senior year we finished 22-7 and won the Northern Athletics Conference regular season and tournament championship, earning a trip to the DIII NCAA National Tournament. My three years of collegiate basketball at Aurora University was an amazing experience and the journey of a lifetime.

Although a Math major, I became more and more involved in Computer Science while at Aurora, and now plan to attend graduate school starting this August/September (2014) in pursuit of a Master’s of Science degree in Computer Science. Artificial intelligence, cyber security, and mobile application development are a few of my chief areas of interest within the CS field. While at graduate school, I hope to immerse myself in research in one or more of these areas – particularly artificial intelligence.

This past year, I worked at the Isilon Storage Division of EMC, performing channel marketing, partner enablement, social media communications, and web development duties for the Isilon channel team and our partner community. I had a very good experience there and learned a lot of best and worst practices for running a business that will serve me well down the road. Very recently, I left EMC Isilon to pursue CS studies and research projects to prepare for graduate school. During this time I will also be engaging in a variety of other personal enrichment opportunities.

I hope to start my own technology company in the near future, developing and selling cutting edge mobile applications, as well as more sophisticated software solutions down the road.

I have an awesome and supportive family and some great friends as well. I am optimistic, positive-minded, and believe that anything can be done with enough focus, determination, and an iron-clad "can't, won't, don't-know-how to quit" kind of work ethic.

Sincerely,

Joel Iventosch
